OTHER CONDUITS REQUIRED FOR THE SYSTEM:
(a) A minimum of two (2), 100mm (4 inches) conduits shall be provided
from the Telephone Equipment Room to the Telephone Console Room.
(b) A minimum of one (1), 50mm (2 inches) conduit from the Remote
Dictating Room to the Telephone Console Room.
(c) A minimum of two (2), 50mm (2 inches) conduits shall be provided
from the Telephone Equipment Room to the Police Control and Engineering
Emergency Control Rooms.
(d) Minimum 20 mm (3/4 inch) conduit from nearest telecommunications
closet to Nurse Station and security service console, head-end cabinet
and interface cabinet.
(e) Minimum 20 mm (3/4 inch) conduit for wire and cable runs
penetrating supporting, fire stops and radiation and shear walls.
(f) Minimum 20 mm (3/4 inch) conduit for wiring and cabling between:
(1) Radio paging and PA system equipment cabinets to nearest
telecommunications closet.
(2) Each Transcription Room and/or Station and nearest
telecommunications closet.
(3) Each pay telephone and/or station in corridors and lobbies, patient
bedside units and telecommunications outlets for telecarts and the
nearest telecommunications closet.

WIREWAYS OR CABLE TRAYS (ENCLOSED WITH HINGED COVERS)

8.6
TELECOMMUNICATIONS DUCTS AND/OR CELLULAR FLOORS
(a) Ducts and/or cellular floors require a minimum of 645 square mm
(one square inch) of feeder (home run) for each 9 square m (100 square
ft.) of floor space.
(b) Cross runs should be installed at a minimum of 12 m (40 ft.). Each
room equipped with under floor ducts or cellular floors should have a
minimum of one cross run.
(c) All under floor ducts and/or cellular floors must be extended to
wall partitions in rooms where installed.
(d) Under floor ducts and/or cellular floors shall be considered as Air
Plenum areas. Therefore, all system wires and cables provided in these
