(c) Overhead Lighting Install at least one two lamp fluorescent
lighting fixture at each backboard.
(d) Interstitial Space Backboards:
(1) All backboards shall be constructed of 20 mm (3/4 inch) "fire
retardant" plywood.
(2) Backboards shall be provided in sufficient numbers to limit
telephone distribution cable length from backboard to telephone outlets
to 144 m (300 ft.) and satisfy local telephone company or telephone
system contractor requirements.
(3) Backboards shall be installed so as to provide unobstructed access
from the catwalks.
8.17 REMOTE OR SECONDARY TELECOMMUNICATIONS CLOSETS - PROVIDE THESE
SPACES AS REQUIRED BY EACH SYSTEM DESIGN
(A/E Note: Refer to Article 7.15 herein for additional information and
provide these spaces as required by each system design when
specifically approved by TCD-194D).
8.18 TYPICAL LAYOUTS
Refer to the Equipment Guide List, Details, and Typical Layouts, Manual
PG-18-4, Program Manual 7610, for specific equipment installation of
various systems.
8.19 COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND CENTRAL COMPUTER ROOM
(a) Design is to fully comply with the wiring, cable,
telecommunications outlet and telecommunication and extension closets
as previously described and conform to VA Specification 16742 and VA
Program Guide PG-18-3, Topic 8, "Electrical and Telecommunications
Closets and Telephone Rooms."
(b) For Main Computer Room requirements, refer to VHA Program Guide PG-
18-3, Topic 10, "Central Computer Room and Systems" for requirements.
