3.4.22 OFFICES, ADMINISTRATIVE AREAS, GENERAL AND CLINICAL EXAMINATION
ROOMS
(a) Small Rooms: Provide receptacles with spacing not to exceed 3000
linear millimeters (10 linear ft.) as measured around the floor line,
excluding doorways. For all linear wall space 1500 mm (5 ft.) and
longer, provide at least one receptacle. Provide a 120 V (volt)
quadruple receptacle or two receptacles for each secretarial and
clerical desk.
(b) Open Spaces and Large Rooms: Install receptacles for large
administrative rooms, such as Patient Processing Rooms and Remote
Control Dictating Rooms, in underfloor raceways or in Tele/Power poles.

3.4.23 LABORATORIES AND RESEARCH FACILITIES
Provide receptacles, wall-mounted in surface metal raceway 300 mm (12
inches) above the reagent shelves of laboratory benches. Space
receptacles approximately 600 mm (24 inches) apart and provide
alternate circuiting. Provide 120 V (volt) receptacles in pedestal type
floor mounts on the top of reagent shelves of double-sided islands or
peninsular laboratory benches. Space pedestals approximately 600 mm (24
inches) apart and wire on alternate circuits. Locate special
receptacles, of size and configuration to suit equipment, as required
with a minimum of one 208 V (volt), single phase, 3 wire, 30A (ampere)
receptacle (per laboratory), located in a vacant wall space. Provide a
receptacle for each 1500 mm (5 ft.) of wall space not occupied by
benches or other permanent furniture.
(a) All receptacles in wet labs shall be of the GFI type.
3.4.24 REHABILITATION MEDICINE SERVICE (RMS)
Provide receptacles as follows:
(a) Occupational Therapy Preparation and Treatment Rooms, Occupational
Therapy Clinics and Manual Arts Therapy Clinics: Provide heavy-duty
multiple surface metal raceway 208 V (volt) and 120 V (volt)
receptacles at 1200 mm (48 inches) intervals on walls with their
centerlines located 1000 mm (40 inches) above the finished floor. Refer
to Equipment Guide List for ampacity requirements.
(b) Educational Therapy Classrooms: Provide light-duty 120 V (volt)
surface metal raceway receptacles at 900 mm (36 inch) intervals on all
walls with their centerlines located 1000 mm (40 inches) above the
finished floor.
(c) Other Receptacles: When appropriate, provide safety receptacles for
other services in the RMS Area. Flush-mount all floor receptacles in
treatment areas with appropriate removable covers.
