(b) GENERAL SURGERY ROOMS
20 receptacles
One module on each of four walls, each with three power receptacles and
four power receptacles on each of two service columns.
(c) CYSTOSCOPY AND MINOR SURGERY ROOMS*
16 receptacles
One module on each of four walls, each with three power receptacles and
four power receptacles on one service column.
*Does not apply to minor Surgery Rooms in Ambulatory Care (refer to
Equipment Guide List for requirements).
(d) Each power receptacle is the standard parallel blade (NEMA#5-20)
single "Hospital Grade" type. Each receptacle shall be on its own
dedicated circuit to the nearest isolated power panel except for those
mounted in the service columns which may be wired two to a circuit.
Wall mounted receptacles shall be 450 mm (18 inches) above the floor.
3.4.4 ICU-CCU FOOT-WALL RECEPTACLES
Provide two receptacles on the foot-wall or side wall near the foot of
beds in Intensive Care cubicles or Isolations Rooms. Feed these
receptacles from different circuits in the respective Prefabricated
Bedside Patient Unit (PBPU). Refer to Chapter 9 for PBPU requirements.
3.4.5 EXTERIOR ELECTRICAL RECEPTACLES
Provide exterior weatherproof GFI receptacles, at a maximum of 25 m (75
ft) spacing, at the following locations:
(a) Exterior walls of Penthouses for maintenance of roof areas
(b) Major entrances to buildings
(c) Courtyards and enclosed (or partially enclosed) garden areas
(d) Loading docks and maintenance yards
(e) Major mechanical equipment enclosures
(f) Major service equipment enclosures
(g) Remote areas such as those found at cemeteries where power will be
required for portable sound, lighting and heating equipment incidental
to internment services
3.4.6 RECEPTACLE FOR HEMODIALYSIS AREA
Include in the Prefabricated Bedside Patient Unit (PBPU), a dedicated
single receptacle for the dialysis machine. Power the receptacle from
its own circuit fed from an emergency source (critical). Mount this
receptacle approximately 1000 mm (40 inches) above the floor and
distinctly identify it by an engraved wall plate on the PBPU. Plate
should read "DIALYSIS MACHINE ONLY" in minimum 6 mm (1/4-inch) letters.
