5. DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
a. Figures 1 to 10 provide functional relationships and typical plans for the various functional areas.
b. Figure 11 depicts a typical diapering area.
c. Figure 12 depicts a typical food/formula prep area.
d. Figure 13 is an anthropomorphic chart for a child -scaled environment.
e. Provide direct visibility of entry and outside walkway from reception area.
f. Reception area to be internal focal point with view of circulation to care areas.
g. Provide direct access to, and visual supervision of, isolation room occupant from reception area.
h. Provide direct access to director's office from lobby.
i. Access to public restrooms to be directly off lobby.
j. Provide handicapped-accessible pay telephone in lobby.
k. Buffer lounge/staff storage visually and acoustically from child activity rooms and public view.
l. Provide entry/lobby with two parallel sets of outward swinging double doors with closers and panic hardware in order
