7.16 POLICE AND ENGINEERING CONTROL ROOMS
Provide these spaces as required by each system design. (A/E Note -
Follow the general guidelines and requirements outlined in Article 8.12
herein).
7.17 TYPICAL LAYOUTS

7.18 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the guidelines stated herein and VA Program Guide 7610,
Equipment Guide List, the following requirements shall be provided in
the design (A/E Note: Obtain specific technical approved from TCD-194D
prior to project design for the following systems):
(a) Nurse Call: Provide Emergency Nurse Call Stations in non-patient
ward toilet areas only at the following locations (A/E Note Use
Specification Section 16761 for requirements).
(1) Dental Service (if not covered by a hands free telephone intercom
system)
(2) Drug Dependency Treatment Clinic
(3) Genitourinary Clinic
(4) Nuclear Medicine
(5) Oncology Clinic/Area (if not covered by a Nurse Call or Code
One/Blue system)
(b) PA System - Provide a PA system that includes a speaker volume
control in the Chapel, Theater and in each Multipurpose Room and
Recreation Room and provide connections for these systems to Medical
Media, Library or as approved by TCD-194D (A/E Note Use Specification
Section 16770 for requirements).
(c) Intercommunication System (A/E Note Use Specification Section
16762 for requirements):
(1) At loading docks, provide an empty conduit system for connection of
a telephone intercom between the Warehouse Office and loading dock
where dock is not visible from the Receiving or Supervisor's office.
(2) In the Dental Service, provide a dedicated intercom system
throughout the Dental Suite. Refer to the Equipment Guide List for
specific locations. (A/E Note: Station telecommunications wires,
