(i) Show the Architectural Smoke Partitions on the Signal Plans.
Identify each Fire Alarm Zone along with the Fire Alarm Code for each
Zone
(j) Specifications:
(1) VA Master Construction Specifications have been developed for most
electrical work. The appropriate sections shall be edited to suit the
project. Prior to typing/editing specifications, the Engineer shall
redline the master specifications for VA review. Upon receipt of VA
comments to redlined specifications, the Engineer shall type
specifications for inclusion in Construction Documents.
(2) The Engineer shall carefully coordinate specifications with the
drawings so that all work required by the drawings is included in the
specifications. Specifications that do not apply to the project shall
be deleted.
(3) The Engineer shall develop specifications for any system or
equipment not addressed by the VA Master Construction specification.
The system or equipment specified must be available from at least three
major manufacturers.
(K) Drawings:
Drawings shall be 100 percent complete, ready for printing as bid
documents for the Construction Document submission.
1.10 CRITERIA UNIQUE TO VA
1.10.1 DRAWINGS
(a) Electrical Design shall be indicated on "ES-Series" drawings.
(b) Refer to VA Design and Construction Procedures (PG-18-3), Topic 2
Drawings, and the VA NCS Application Guide, for general drawing
requirements.
(c) Consolidate notes and place them on the right-hand side of the
sheet.
(d) Show scale, compass point, orientation, key plan, title, column
grids and numbers, room numbers and titles corresponding to the
Architectural drawings.
(e) Provide large-scale minimum 1:50(1/4"=1'-0") partial plans for
areas such as Transformer Vaults, Generator Rooms, Switchgear Rooms,
Electrical Rooms/Closets, Telecommunications Closets and Mechanical
Equipment Rooms.
(f) Show the number of wires in each branch circuit conduit on the
plans. Include the number of wires in all interconnecting conduits for
all wiring devices, fixtures and equipment. Use tick marks as per the
electrical symbols shown in Program Guide PG-18-4,National CAD Standard
Details (Volume 4). This is a mandatory requirement.
