C) Work Station: 7.8 NSM (84 NSF) This
enclosed area will accommodate the
computerize data handling equipment and
personnel.
A running inventory of all
supplies entering and leaving SPD and the
initiation of the reordering process will be
accomplished at this work station.
Equipment Storage and Testing Room:
Maximum 7.4 NSM (80 NSF) Equipment,
after decontamination, is tested and stored
in this room. This equipment is used for
patient care and is assigned and stored in
SPD as opposed to equipment used in
patient care that is permanently assigned to
other areas.
This area will also,
accommodate SPD and Surgical case carts.
Housekeeping Aids Closet: 3.7 NSM (40
NSF) A separate HAC for the clean area is
not needed if another one (in addition to the
one in the decontamination area) is located
in the immediate area.
