Home Environment Clinic/Living-Dining 36-A
Function:
The Home Environment Clinic is intended to prepare the SCI patient for the transition to independence. It
should present the patient with the same conditions that might be found in the average rental apartment.
Prior to discharge a patient (and spouse) will actually live here for a period of 1-2 weeks. This should be
located some distance from the Nurse Station to encourage self-reliance. An outside entrance is
desirable.
