2. Urgent Care
Area is not equipped or staffed for emergency care service. Accommodates only
patients with medical conditions warranting constant observation while at the clinic,
and those who, while at the clinic, develop complications that require immediate
resuscitation and/or temporary stabilization until they can be transported to a
emergency care medical facility. Ambulances will not bring patients in need of
emergency care services to the clinic.
Urgent Care will utilize clean and soiled utility rooms located in an adjacent clinic
examination/treatment module.
Basic Service:
Provide when no full-time medical care staff will be permanently assigned to Urgent
Care
a. UC: Observation / Treatment Room (OOHR1).............. 150 NSF (13.9 NSM)
Provide one if FT medical care staff (physician, physician extender or nurse)
positions permanently assigned to the Clinic are not authorized.
Expanded Service:
Provide when full-time medical care staff permanently assigned and number of
annual Urgent Care stops is greater than 3,000.
