3. Patient Prep / Recovery Cubicle (RRSS3) ............................. 100 NSF (9.3 NSM)
Minimum NSF. Provide three per each EGD/Colonoscopy, ERCP, and Gastric
(Esophageal) Motility Procedure Rooms; Digital Fluoroscopic, Screening
Proctoscopy / Sigmoidoscopy and Exam Rooms; and Gastroenterology
Laboratory and if in Concept of Operations.
4. Patient Prep / Recovery Room (RROP1) ............................. 120 NSF (11.2 NSM)
Minimum NSF. Provide three per each EGD/Colonoscopy, ERCP, and Gastric
(Esophageal) Motility Procedure Rooms; Digital Fluoroscopic, Screening
Proctoscopy / Sigmoidoscopy and Exam Rooms; and Gastroenterology
Laboratory and if in Concept of Operations.
Provide either Prep / Recovery Cubicles or Rooms per concept of operations. Do
not duplicate space.
In some facilities, depending on scope and proximity of surgical services
provided, Prep / Recovery function may be accommodated in the Post-
Anesthesia Care Unit.
5. Toilet, Patient (TLTU1) ............................................................. 50 NSF (4.7 NSM)
Provide one per four Patient Prep / Recovery Rooms / cubicles.
These must be accessible from the Patient Prep/Recovery Area.
6. Procedure Room, EGD / Colonoscopy (TREE1) ................ 250 NSF (23.3 NSM)
Minimum of two. Calculate the number of EGD / Colonoscopy Procedure Rooms
per Formula 2 in Section 3.
NSF excludes toilet and gurney storage.
7. Sub-Waiting (WRC01) .............................................................. 40 NSF (3.7 NSM)
Provide one per EGD/Colonoscopy, ERCP, and Gastric (Esophageal) Motility
Procedure Rooms; Digital Fluoroscopic, Screening Proctoscopic / Sigmoidoscopy
and Exam Rooms; and Gastroenterology Laboratory and if in Concept of
Operations.
8. Procedure Room, ERCP (TREE1) ....................................... 320 NSF (29.8 NSM)
Divide the projected number of annual procedures by 750; provide one room for
each whole increment. Minimum annual workload to provide a room is 225 (see
Table 1).
9. Control Room, Radiography (XTSC1) ..................................... 30 NSF (2.8 NSM)
Provide one if fixed radiographic equipment is included in ERCP Procedure
Room.
