The elevator supply shall be dedicated main feeder
utilizing the shortest practical run and continuous ground
conductor.
B.
Auxiliary Power:
1.
The elevators shall be arranged to have auxiliary power
available with the capacity to operate one elevator at a
time.
2.
If emergency generator is not available, then hydraulic
elevators shall be provided with energizing to the down
valve to bring the elevator to the bottom floor and
maintain an energized door open button.
C.
Receptacle Outlets:
1.
Each elevator machine room shall be provided with a
minimum of one ground type duplex receptacle outlet per
elevator, and one receptacle for the master intercom
panel.
2.
Each elevator pit shall be provided with one ground type
duplex receptacle outlet per elevator.
3.
Provide for hydraulic elevators, a ground type duplex
receptacle in the pit, mounted on the starting channel of
each elevator at a point near the buffer springs
preferably 450 mm (18 inches) above the pit floor.
11.2
COMMUNICATION:
A.
Each elevator will have an intercom system in place of a
telephone.
B.
Conduit must be provided from the elevator machine room to a
24 hour monitoring location.
11.3
DETECTORS: Smoke detectors shall be installed in the elevator
lobbies at all floors, front and rear openings if applicable.
These smoke detectors plus the detectors at the top of the
hoistway and machine room will be connected in common zone
terminating in the machine room. The smoke detector at the main
floor lobby will form a second zone and terminate in the machine
room.
