TECHNICAL INFORMATIO N LIBRARY (TIL)
ISSUE:
How to access and navigate the TIL.
BACKGROUND:
The TIL is located on VA's website, and can be accessed at Internet by anyone (VA and
Non-VA), and at Intranet (VA's use only). The addresses are:
Internet: http://www.va.gov/facmgt/standard/
Intranet: http://vaww.va.gov/facmgt/standard/
HOW TO FIND INFORMATION:
The user should follow following steps:
Step No. 1:
Type Internet address, as applicable.
Step No. 2:
Click, and this would bring up a list of 24 topics covered in TIL with their brief description
such as What's Hot, Accessibility, Asbestos, Design Alerts, Design Manuals,
Specifications, etc.
Step No. 3:
Click on a topic say Design Manuals, it would bring up a list of disciplines for which
various Design Manuals are available.
Step No. 4:
Click on a discipline, it will bring up further breakdown showing various design manuals
under that discipline.
Step No. 5:
Click on a specific Design Manual, it will open detailed Design Manual. The users then
can download this information.
Similarly, follow each step for other topics to obtain the information.
Facilities Quality Service updates the TIL once a month. The most common documents
updated are VA's Master Construction Specifications. A list of recently updated
standards is under "What's Hot" topic.
