CHAPTER 801. VETERANS BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION - REGIONAL OFFICE -
BUILDING SUPPORT FACILITIES
1. APPROVAL OF CRITERIA
Criteria approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on June 15, 1988.
2. DEFINITION
These facilities will support the operation of the building and will be shared by the Regional Office. Therefore, portions of
each division's "Program Data Required" must be considered during the development of space requirements.
3. PROGRAM DATA REQUIRED
a. Projected number of daily visitors to all VBA Divisions and percentages of males and females.
b. See individual VBA criteria chapters for additional requirements.
4. SPACE DETERMINATIONS
a. Toilet Facilities
The following requirements are based on the projected VBA staff (FTE) and 30 percent of visitors:
(1) Male
Up to 10 males .................1 water closet + 1 lavatory ........................................................................... 4.9 NSM ( 52 NSF)
11-25 males ......................1 water closet + 1 lavatory + 1 urinal .......................................................14.1 NSM (152 NSF)

NOTE: The above schedule includes 3.7 NSM, (40.5 NSF) for a vestibule for each toilet room over two fixtures. The total
number of fixtures and NSM (NSF) should be divided and strategically located on each floor, including facilities for males
and females.
