Automated Fabrication of Mobility Aids is a CAD/CAM process that uses
computerized equipment used to scan and measure residual limbs of patients
with amputation. Foam or plaster blanks are carved by computerized lathe to
create check and permanent prosthetic sockets that are then fabricated and fitted
to the patient.
