D. Preoperative Patient and Postoperative Holding Areas
Preoperative Areas

This area may be part of the PAR to achieve maximum flexibility.
Postanesthesia Care Room (PACU) Areas

Provide one per OR.
3. Nurse Station (xxxx) ........................................................... 160 NSF (14.9 NSM)
Provide one per PACU area
Should contain charting facilities.
4. Hand-washing Station (xxxx) .................................................. 10 NSF (0.9 NSM)
Provide one per every increment of four patient cubicles.
5. Utility Room, Clean (xxxxx).................................................... 80 NSF (7.5 NSM)
Provide one per PACU area.
For storage of supplies and equipment.
